Setting up a computer network can be tricky especially if it’s a large one. There are many things that can go wrong if you don’t know what you’re doing. This article will explain a little bit about large computer networks and how they can be connected.

The first thing you want to know is what kind of a network you want to create. You can have a network run off of a switch, hub, or wireless router. We will explain how you can set up a network with all three of these devices.

If you want a wireless network, you will need a wireless router. You will also need a wireless Internet provider. Wireless networks are becoming really popular because they are easy to set up and provide better security.

Setting up a large network with a router will require some cables. You will have a main router sending out your signal, but will need to add a hub or switch in order to connect multiple computers. However, if the computers have a built in wireless receptor this won’t be necessary.

Using a switch to set up your network is also pretty popular. Switches are pretty reliable, but require some network cable to link the computers to the switch. If you run out of outlets on your switch, you know it’s time to get another one.

When working with hubs, you will have to be careful about how away you place them. Using a crossover cable you can place the hubs about 100 meters apart before your signal starts to fade. This is also the same for switches.

You can use as many switches, routers, or hubs as you want. This allows you to have pretty large networks. Make sure you don’t overload your network devices or you will experience network jams. These network jams aren’t fun and sometimes take all day to undo.

A large computer network can be a benefit to a lot of large companies. It is pretty easy to set up whether you’re using a router, hub, or switch. Make sure you understand what you’re doing beforehand so you don’t end up wasting time and money.
