Acne shouldn’t be blamed on puberty any longer if you’re over the age of 25 and you’re still getting bothered by pimples, zits, blackheads and more. You may have tried various ways in getting rid of acne, but experience tells you that it’s not simple to find the most effective one. Keeping it from appearing seems to be the soundest choice, but this demands full commitment.
Get a healthy lifestyle. You have to clear out all the toxins to clear your acne. Better watch your eating habits as well. As much as possible, eat less oily foods and avoid drinking too much alcoholic and caffeinated drinks. Drinking water also washes out oil, waste, and toxins from your body. It moisturizes your skin, preventing your pores from clogging. There is also the matter of exercising regularly, avoiding stress, quitting smoking, and exercising proper hygiene.
But what if you already have acne? You can keep acnes from happening, but for those that have already graced your face, you can still do something to be free of them.
OTC products like topical gels and creams dry out acnes quickly. Directly applied medicines that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid are used in mild to moderate types of acne. For those who choose natural remedies, many people swear by honey, oatmeal, ginger, or even ice as remedies for acnes. However, all of these only eradicate the problem briefly.
However, if you have serious acne case, topical products are not enough.
Acne creams and gels work in mild to moderate conditions of acne, but they can’t eradicate the root of the problem. Acnes should be healed internally. There are oral antibiotics that are available in the market that may help flush out pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and more. But oral acne medicines may contain erythromycin or any of the tetracycline antibiotics. Those elements may induce side effects, such as discoloration of the teeth. Best check with skin doctor before taking any oral medicines.
Acnes are a monthly thing for some women. The beginning of their menstrual cycle triggers hormonal level fluctuation, causing the oil secretion of the glands. For others, taking oral contraceptives helps in eliminating their acnes.
There are no exact ways to clear out acnes. While some remedies work for others, there are those who find them a waste of time and money. Your soundest bet is to lead a healthy lifestyle. Although it’s not a full guarantee that you will not have a single pimple on your face again, it will help lessen the problem.
