Are you one of those who are having problems with their toilet? If so, then you better take time to read through this article to arm yourself with the proper knowledge on how to properly address this problem. By the end of this article you should have a decent idea on how to replace basic toilet parts that may wear down over time.
Before, it is very much possible to flush down nearly anything in your toilet with no difficulty. This just goes to show that older toilet models have better suction power as compared to the newer models. Over the years, the style, design, and overall functionality of toilets, same with other plumbing fixtures, have changed immensely. Since manufacturers were very eager to introduce a more functional design, the toilet’s suction power was compromised.
To give you a better idea on how toilet works, it is a must that you gain a deep understanding on how they really operate. Generally, most of the toilets being used today are called as ‘gravity toilets’. Such toilets greatly rely upon gravity to help out in pulling water and waste down. When the flush handle on the toilet is pushed or triggered, the valve inside opens. And as a result, the water accumulated within the tank will instantly drain into the toilet bowl. The process of draining the water varies widely depending on the type of toilet system that you use. Some may drain water through a large siphon jet opening, while others utilize rim openings. Gravity practically helps the water to gain sufficient speed to effectively push the waste into the drain. Basically, older toilet models work in the exact same way, but the only difference is that, they require more water to get the job done.
However, do not think that toilets requiring less water are incapable of holding more water than they require. Because that truth is, they can. So, if you are having problems on flushing down the waste on your toilet, you should first try to adjust the flow of water in the tank. If you have used enough water to drain the waste down and nothing happens, then it is really time to find professional plumbing help!
